I started this writing journey last year because I was 2 months into having no job, bedridden and bored.

I was previously a Nanny that ran a daycare/preschool out of my home. That sounds kind of impressive lol but I basically just watched children in my home, took care of them, and loved them until their parents got off of work. For the children who were not school age yet, I taught them what they needed to know to be ready for Preschool. I loved doing what I was doing. While it was tiring and frustrating (what job isn’t) I enjoyed creating a safe and loving environment for little ones and watching them grow over the years. Time came for me to focus more on my own children and family so I turned in my resignation and wouldn’t you know, life decided to throw me a curve ball. I ended up taking a bad fall two weeks before my quit date, damaged my knee and was immobile for almost two months. It took a month for the swelling to go down enough for the Orthopedics to realize the extent of the damage. Multiple minor tares in my ligaments and two quarter sized chunks of cartilage missing. One of the holes prevented me from straightening my knee all the way (something about how the knee joint kept getting caught in one of the holes). Yes it was as painful as it sounds and still is. 

Today, I am thankful for the circumstances that transpired last year that brought me fatefully to this point of finishing up my first draft of my first book. I can’t wait to “hopefully” get it published and to write and publish many more down the road. However, I really could use some income right about now. lol So far, we are doing alright on my Husbands and My Mom’s (she moved in with us a few years back) but it would just be easier if there was more income to help cushion the bank account (know what I mean?).

So, I started looking into different ways to earn a living with writing. Sure there’s the given, write and publish a book or two or three or four, but there is also many other forms of writing income out there that is just waiting for us to take advantage of it. For instance, there is always websites posting call’s for submission (for other websites, magazines, blog posts, contests, etc.) Here are 13 websites I have found that fit the bill.
